"ArmsUp Motorsports takes Three Victories at Road America Regional"

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. -- ArmsUp Motorsports drivers claimed three victories out of four races over the weekend during the SCCA Kettle Double Regional at Road America. J.M. Paredes took both Formula Atlantic wins in his Swift .014. In the Formula Continental class Jim Victor continued his run of good finishes taking the win in Sunday's event. Saturday's FC race saw John Dickmann put in his best run of the season, the Grafton, Wis. crossed the line in the second position.

Saturday brought difficult condition in the morning with a half wet and half dry track greeting the drivers as they took to the circuit. John Dickmann would cope very well with the difficult conditions lining up third in the 14 car FC Field. In the race, Dickmann would move up one position finishing in the second position, his best of the season. Jim Victor and Walter Vollrath both struggled through difficult days. Victor finished tenth, after struggling with mechanical gremlins, and Vollrath 12th, recovering well from a crash in the kink in the morning qualifying session.

Sunday's race brought better fortunes for Victor and Vollrath but not for Dickmann. Victor was back on track after a tough Saturday with the Iowa native running second in qualifying. Early in the race Victor was battling with Brian Davis and eventually pulled away to a sizeable win. Victor has been on a roll of late with three wins in his last five starts. Vollrath would also have a much better day running a solid seventh place in the race improving one spot from qualifying. After a strong run Saturday Dickmann was hit from behind at the start of Sunday's contest on the race's first lap. Dickmann would continue but would go a lap down from the spin and finish 11th.

J.M. Paredes would have a strong weekend taking the overall victories on both Saturday and Sunday. The wins would not be without difficulty though after cracks were found in the chassis of his primary car. Paredes was able to switch cars and still take both victories.

"This was another really good weekend for our team," team owner Gregg Borland would say after the race. "The crew worked really hard on Saturday to get Walter's car back together and did a great job at it. Dickmann had a great race on Saturday and it was a shame what happened to him on Sunday otherwise I think he was good for another top five."

ArmsUp Motorsports now has a bit of a break until they debut the Walter Vollrath's restored Lola 497 during the VSCDA Vintage event at Road America September 8 -- 9.
