Cadence Motorsports Announces Charge of Headlight Brigade Driver Lineup

DANVILLE, VA. (October 17, 2008) -- Cadence Motorsports announces their driver line up for the sixth annual SCCA "Charge of the Headlight Brigade" 13 hour endurance race that is being held November 1, 2008 at Virginia International Raceway. Cadence is entering a Lexus IS-300 ex-Koni Challenge car to vie for the overall honors in this prestigious fall classic endurance event. Joining the team will be drivers Nick Igdalsky of Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Frank Vultaggio of Apalachin, NY, Chase Mattioli of Long Pond, Pennsylvania, and Shawn Dewey of Towns End, Delaware.

Igdalsky began racing Formula 2000 open wheel cars at age 16. Igdalsky has raced in SCCA Nationals and with the Bertil Roos F2000 Pro Championship, finishing 5th in the 2007 and 3rd in 2008. Igdalsky has also competed in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Pure Stock Division at South Boston Speedway.

Vultaggio has a wide range of motorsports experience, beginning in the 70's with motocross, motorcycle ice racing, karting , solo track day events. In the past nine seasons, Vultaggio has competed in the Bertil Roos F2000 Pro Championship with an impressive 76 starts and 45 podium finishes. He finished sixth in the 2008 season standings.

Mattioli, a 19 year old freshman at Fordham University, began his racing career at age seven in quarter midgets and won in his first year. Mattioli has raced in SCCA Regional and National events, dirt modified series and super trucks, and stock cars at Nashville's Music City Motorplex. For 2008, Mattioli ran a limited number of Stock Car events for Team Liquid Fence in the ARCA-RE/MAX and NASCAR Camping World series, leading four laps at Pocono's August ARCA 200. Mattioli's most recent event was the ARCA RE/MAX race at New Jersey Motorsports Park, which marked the first road race event for ARCA since 2001.

Ingdalsky and Mattioli are the grandson's of Pocono Raceway owners, Doctors Joe and Rose Mattioli.

Anchoring the team will be veteran SCCA road racer Shawn Dewey of Townsend, Delaware. Dewey has raced in numerous professional series, including Koni Challenge, SCCA's Miata Cup and the USERA Endurance Championship. He won the 2000 SCCA American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) in Spec RX-7. His endurance experience includes the 12 Hours of Summit Point, 12 and 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges and the 13 Hours of VIR. His career best endurance finish was a class win, and 2nd overall at Nelson Ledges in 2006.

"I am very excited with the team driver lineup and our chances to achieve not only a class victory, but the overall race win as at this year's event," said Ken Grammer, owner of Cadence Motorsports. "Our driver lineup is strong and combined with our team's history of endurance race victories, I predict we will be one of the strongest teams at this year's event."

The SCCA 23 Hour Charge of the Headlight Brigade begins Friday afternoon, October 31, 2008 with qualifying and night practice. The race starts Saturday morning, November 1. Ticket information can be found by visiting the VIR website at www.virclub.com or by calling 434.822.7700.
