Cooper MacNeil SCCA June Sprints preview
17 year-old Hinsdale, Illinois racecar driver Cooper MacNeil has been preparing for the biggest race of his 2010 campaign to date. June 25-27th, 2010 marks the start of summer during the 55th annual WeatherTech Chicago Region June Sprints at the iconic 4.0 mile Road America circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The race is significantly important for the 2010 season for many reasons. A win in the June Sprints would make MacNeil an instant favorite for the 2010 SCCA Touring 2 title, in addition to keeping his chances alive for the SCCA Super Sweep.
MacNeil has been on a roll recently in SCCA contest scoring five of seven wins, garnering two separate track records driving his No. 76 WeatherTech/Fall-Line Motorsports BMW E46 M3. The race holds additional significance for MacNeil as the race is sponsored by his father David, and his company WeatherTech Automotive Products.
"I'm very excited for this year's WeatherTech June Sprints. I'm very satisfied with how the year has went this far, but we can't stop here. I know that Rob May and the Fall-Line Motorsports crew will have my car prepared with the utmost care and attention so I can focus on my driving," MacNeil commented before the weekend.
MacNeil's race will roll off for the green at 2:40PM, Saturday June 26th, 2010.
Cooper MacNeil is a second generation racer set to make a name for himself in sports car racing during the 2010 season. With support from MacNeil Automotive Products, WeatherTech and Fall-Line Motorsports expect to see Cooper MacNeil's name in victory lane.
