GOODYEAR WINS NINE RACES AT SCCA SEASON OPENER AT SEBRING
SEBRING, Fla. (Jan. 13, 2006) -- Goodyear Racing's amateur racing efforts started the 2006 season in the same place it finished the 2005 season: First place.
Goodyear provided the tires for nine winners in the Sports Car Club of America Club Racing's season-opening event at Sebring International Raceway. The wins came from across the SCCA racing spectrum, including open wheeled cars, GT classes, Production classes and Touring classes. Drivers won using Goodyear bias-ply and radial tires.
Goodyear routinely wins the most SCCA national championships among tiremakers. The results at Sebring indicate the tradition will continue in 2006.
The Goodyear-equipped winning drivers at Sebring included James Goughary Jr. (in Formula Mazda), Dorian Foyil (D Sports Racer), Phil Simms (GT1), Chad Beacon (GTL), Greg Ira (E Production), Harold Flescher (F Production), Dan Barrach (H Production), John Heinricy (Touring 1) and David Rosenblum (Touring 2).
