GOODYEAR QUOTE: Bob Shaffer, marketing manager, sports car racing -- "Since moving production of our racing tires from our plant in Chile back to Akron, for the 2004 season, we have noticed a positive response from a great number of teams. Along with the change in location, we've taken the opportunity to update a number of tire designs and introduce a variety of new codes. We've seen some great results so far and are very excited about the prospects for the Runoffs."
GOODYEAR TIRE NOTE: Goodyear will have cars in 23 of the 24 classes in the Runoffs. If you count the dry, intermediate and wet track applications, then add the bias-ply and radial designs, Goodyear will supply more than 100 different types of tires for this year's Runoffs.
