Tim Crawley is National 360 Sprint Car Poll "Driver Of The Year"

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (DEC. 5, 2002) - Tim Crawley of Mabelvale, Ark., has been voted 360-cubic-inch sprint car racing's "Driver of the Year" for 2002, according to the National 360 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of manufacturers, media members, promoters and sanctioning officials. Crawley, the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) point champion, earned fourteen of the twenty- one (21) first-place ballots cast.

Ranked second in the poll is ASCS runner-up Michael Dupuy of Amite, La. Rounding out the top six drivers are United Racing Club (URC) champion Bill Brian (Jr.) of Ephrata, Penna., United Sprint Car Series (USCS) champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tenn., ASCS regular Gary Wright of Hooks, Tex., and Empire Super Sprints (ESS) champion Mike Woodring of Eden, N.Y. Dupuy, Brian, Gray, Wright and Woodring each earned one first place vote, as did Knoxville 360 Nationals winner Jeff Swindell (8th) and California Civil War Series champion Mike Henry (14th).

Other point champions in the "top 25" are Brian Brown of Knoxville Raceway in 7th, Roger Crockett of the Northern Sprint Tour (NST) in 11th, Jake Peters of the Nebraska Sprint Car Association (NSCA) in 12th, Chad Layton of Selinsgrove and Williams Grove Speedways in 16th, Mike Dussel of the National Racing Alliance (NRA) in 17th, Eddie Gallagher of Memphis Motorsports Park in 19th, Clint Garner of Huset's Speedway in 20th, and Sport Allen of the East Bay Raceway Park in 22nd.

The National 360 Sprint Car Poll is an official awards program of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation, Inc. Other polls include the National 410 Sprint Car Poll, the National Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll, and the Australian National Sprintcar Poll.
