410 Sprint Bandits to Kick off '04 Season at Devil's Bowl Speedway!

TULSA, Okla. (September 19, 2003) - The first race dates for the 410 Sprint Bandits were revealed today, as it was announced that the 410 Sprint Bandits will kick off the 2004 season at the famed Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on March 19-20 with the 31st Annual Devil's Bowl Spring Nationals.

Devil's Bowl Speedway promoter Lanny Edwards looks forward to hosting the first ever event for the 410 Sprint Bandits at his famed high-banked, ½-mile clay oval. "The Sprint Bandit series is definitely gonna be a good deal for Sprint Car racing well into the future," commented Edwards. "It might take a little time to get it going strong, but it's going to be the best thing to happen for 410 Sprint Car racing and I want to do all that I can to help it along."

410 Sprint Bandit series founder Emmett Hahn said, "We're excited about having our first Sprint Bandit event at a venue with such great Sprint Car history." Hahn continued, "Devil's Bowl Speedway is a first-rate facility that has been regarded for years as one of the nation's top Sprint Car tracks, so a two-night show at the Devil's Bowl is a very appropriate place for us to get this deal started."

Hahn's 410 Sprint Bandits will feature the use of the Brodix-developed series head, which has been specifically developed to significantly reduce the cost of 410-ci engines as well as extend engine life. Dash-12 heads will also be legal in the series without any modifications. All other non-series heads will be legal as well, although they will require sleeved-down injectors to compete in the 410 Sprint Bandit series.

Wing rules, including the removal of wicker bills along with degree and setback rules will be implemented. This, along with rear tire width and compound rules, will aid in unhooking the cars, thus enabling the driver to become a greater part of the equation and resulting in more competitive and cost-effective 410-ci Sprint Car racing.

The 410 Sprint Bandits will present a schedule of approximately 25-30 races in 2004. Negotiations with a number of tracks are currently under way and additional dates will be announced soon.
