ATTICA, OH -- Dale Blaney recorded his fourth win of the season Sunday night at Attica Raceway Park in the Haulmark All Star sprint car 40 lap Ohio Speedweek round number two. Blaney ran down Chad Kemenah and passed him to lead the final four circuits in the Andrews Motorsports No. 72. Kemenah was second and Tim Hunter an impressive third after leading early.

"Tim Hunter ran an awful good race for a long time," Blaney said in victory lane. "Chad Kemenah kept working and digging and he showed me top in one and two and I started working it. Then I started working the middle and I had one shot at him and I knew that was going to be it so I had to take it," was how he described his winning pass of the series' points leader.

"My wing slider stuck, and once my tire came in I couldn't get my wing forward," Hunter said after finishing third. "I was just trying to hang on. You just hope she turns before you go off the end of the racetrack." It was his best finish of the season.

Byron Reed and Hunter led the field to the green with Reed leading a lap before doing a spin in front of the whole pack. This put Hunter on top followed by Greg Wilson and Kemenah. The red appeared with four laps in the books as Bill Rose flipped in turn three. Rose was able to make repairs and restart. He then spun a lap later and exited the event, ending his run from the non-qualifiers race into the C, B and A mains.

Hunter led again after the red, followed by Kemenah and Wilson. Meanwhile, seventh starting Blaney was up to fourth with John Ivy fifth.

After the halfway point Kemenah began challenging Hunter, and he drove around Hunter coming off turn four to lead lap 23. Hunter was second with Blaney now third. It was a three car race now, with Blaney slowly closing in on Hunter. Blaney finally took over second on lap 34, and closed on Kemenah with a big run. Blaney rode the middle groove off turn four to take over the top spot, and victory was his. Blaney, Hunter and Ivy followed. Wilson was fifth, with 13th starting Lee Jacobs sixth, ahead of Todd Kane, Byron Reed all the way back up from last on lap one, Kelly Kinser, Danny Smith and Jeremy Campbell crossed the line 11th.

The Crown Battery heat fell to Jesse Hockett, the B&B Products heat went to Haudenschild, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Lee Jacobs and the TP Wings heat fell to Aussie driver Robbie Farr. Jan Howard won the Outerwears Pre-filters C Main and David Harrison won the University of Northwestern Ohio B Main. Hunter captured the Haulmark Dash and Danny Smith was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier. Eric Rankin won the last chance race. Mark Keegan took a nasty flip in his heat race, but he emerged uninjured, as did Shane Helms from his flip.
