TUNICA, MS -- Jeff Shepard outran Kelly Kinser to score his second series' win in the last two races Saturday night at Delta Bowl Speedway in the Haulmark All Star sprint car-NCRA 30 lap feature. The final night win in the Hooker Hood Classic was worth $10,000 to the pilot of the Miller Rigging No. 2 J&J chassis. An overflow crowd witnessed the hard fought feature action.

With Missouri's Daron Clayton on the pole alongside Indiana's Kinser, Kinser nabbed the lead at the drop of the green and began stretching his advantage over Clayton. Fifth starter Brooke Tatnell kept the pressure on Clayton, taking over second in turn two on lap seven, but Clayton fought back and regained the spot a turn later.

Meanwhile, Shepard was on the move after starting seventh and was up to fourth behind Kinser, Clayton and Tatnell when Barry Ruble executed an easy tip-over after hitting the infield berm on lap 11. Following the red, Ruble went to the tail and was able to continue the event.

The restart lineup was Kinser, Clayton, Tatnell, Shepard, third starter Kenny Jacobs and All Star points leader Chad Kemenah. Shepard drove up the track on the high groove and snared third following the restart, and he was in second with another high groove move around Clayton on lap 14. Meanwhile, Kemenah was also on the move and was up to fourth.

A pair of circuits later Shepard dove under Kinser with a good run in the low groove to grab the lead on lap 16 coming off turn two. A lap later a caution for a stalled Randy Hannagan again slowed the action, with Shepard now on top over Kinser, Jacobs, Kemenah and Tatnell. Kemenah took third following the restart as Shepard once again opened up his advantage.

From that point on, it was a race through lapped traffic and Shepard emerged with a 10 car length win over Kinser, Kemenah, Tatnell, Jacobs, 11th starting Dean Jacobs, Clayton, Danny Smith, Ryan Coniam and Jan Howard.

The Crown Battery heat fell to Greg Wilson, the B&B Products heat went to Dean Jacobs and the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Ryan Coniam. Jason Johnson captured the Haulmark Dash and was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier with a new track record of 12.482 seconds. In the MARA-SMRA midget feature, Craig Carey was the winner and in UMSA Mini Sprints action, Travis Sentner, Jr. topped a 31 car field.
