All Stars Set for Big Easy Bay Nationals in Y2K
PONCE INLET, FL - The 24th annual East Bay Nationals, at Stanley Kolan's East Bay Raceway in Gibsonton near Tampa will run Wed. Feb. 13 through Sat. Feb. 19, 2000. Each All Star sprint car sanctioned preliminary event pays $4,000 to win with the big Saturday night finale paying $10,000 for the winner of the 50 lap contest. Several special awards and other suprises are in store for the 2000 All Star East Bay Nationals. Kolan announced earlier this year that the 2001 East Bay Sprint Nationals will pay $25,000 to win to celebrate the track's 25th anniversary. Catch the new spirit of East Bay next season.
The All Star sprints hit the track for the first time in the new millennium with the traditional Florida Speedweeks series at Volusia February, 2000.
Volusia Speedway Park will host All Star Sprint Car races Feb. 10-13, 2000 at the half-mile dirt track located 20 minutes from Daytona Beach.
Track owner Dick Murphy said next year's event will pay $4,000 to win on the three preliminary nights and $7,000 to win for the Sunday night final.
