Lance Dewease to Compete for 2008 O'Reilly All Star Title

CAMARGO, IL (1-11-08) -- The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions gained another title contender this week as Central PA Posse stand out Lance Dewease has committed to running the entire 2008 All Star schedule. Lance will be driving the Lisa and Donny Owens, Catoctin Motorsports #30c that he finished out the 2007 season in. This adds to the already exciting season ahead for the All Stars as Dale Blaney and Dean Jacobs have both made commitments to run full time in 2008 for their shot at the title. Also, former All Star turned Outlaw, Paul McMahan, has announced he will be returning full time with the All Stars in 2008 piloting the Rick Ferkel owned #0 car. Add the remainder of the 2007 All Star Top 10 and a fresh crop of young rookies and Dewease will have his hands full.

Lance Dewease is a name known throughout the sprint car ranks and is a driver who puts up big numbers. Lance started racing in 1982 at the age of 16 in the Micro Sprint Division. In 1985 he switched to the Super Sprints, running his own #2D. He got his first win in 1986 at Hagerstown Speedway. Since then he has had 260 Super Sprint wins, which includes 3 URC, 2 360 and 1 ARDC win. He has won races at 18 different tracks.

Dewease is very excited about the prospect of taking his show on the road. "Donny has given me the opportunity to travel a lot more, and I think that it will only make us stronger as a team. You can't put a value on the information that you can gain by racing at different venues, and we're going to have a great time racing against the best that the rest of the U.S. has to offer, and racing at new tracks."

Lance is no stranger to All Star competition with 22 All Star Circuit of Champions wins already under his belt -- mostly coming on tracks in the Central PA region. Also to his credit are 11 World of Outlaw wins. Dewease also made the trip to Ohio in 2007 to compete in 4 of the All Star Ohio Sprint Speedweek events where his best finish was 5th at Wayne County Speedway.

"There were several changes in my life in 2007 from the birth of my son to the death of my father and with the opportunities presented to me to travel in 2008 it just seemed like the right time," said Dewease. "I'm looking forward to running at some new tracks. I have never been to about 90% of the tracks on the schedule. It will be challenging on the slick bullrings. The All Stars have some pretty tough competitors and I know there are some really good teams in Ohio on the local level, so I know it won't be easy, but I am excited about the chance to do this."

The O'Reilly All Stars are thrilled to add Dewease to their arsenal for 2008. "We're excited to have a driver like Lance wanting to come and compete with us in 2008," said Series President, Guy Webb. "We've got a strong series here that has always been very competitive and is always entertaining. With the addition of Lance and some of the other drivers coming on in '08, I think the fans are going to see some fantastic racing and an epic battle for the $50,000 championship."

The All Stars will kick off the 2008 racing season at North Florida Speedway in Lake City, FL on February 1st and 2nd, then continue their trek through Florida by moving over to Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL on February 5th, 6th, and 7th.
