Jerrod Hull Wins First Ever O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series Feature

CANTON, IL (6-09-07) -- Jerrod Hull etched his name in the record books with a hard fought feature win at Spoon River Speedway on Saturday night, becoming the first-ever feature winner of the newly formed O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series.

The Sikeston, MO veteran started third in the 30-lap A-main and dueled Springfield, IL crowd favorite and front row starter Robbie Standridge throughout the first fifteen laps. The two traded slide jobs nearly every lap on the racy 3/8^th mile, with Mark Sutton, Tim Montgomery, and Paul May following in close pursuit. Each time Hull looked to gain the advantage, however, one of the numerous cautions stalled his efforts and kept the leaders from dicing through lapped traffic.

On lap sixteen, Hull made his move, sliding past Standridge in the first corner on the restart. Tim Montgomery also got by Standridge and pushed the leader the rest of the way, getting under Hull on several occasions but falling short on each attempt. Hull would win by two car lengths over Montgomery, with a fast-closing Standridge a close third, just ahead of Sutton and May. Hull's win netted $2,000.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Corey Weyant, Chris Urish, Tommy Shepard, Jimmy Hurley and Joey Moughan.

Hull also captured the Dash win, while heats went to May, Tiffany Wyzard, Montgomery and Sutton. The B Main win belonged to Moughan. May set fast time at 12.202 with twenty-nine of the best winged 410 sprint cars in the Midwest present.

The most serious incident of the evening took place in the fourth heat when Jeremy Standridge and Ryan Bunton got together in the first turn on the initial lap, with Bunton barrel-rolling several times. He was not injured.

The O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series moves to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO, on Wednesday, June 13th .
