ROME, GA - "Janet Holbrook told me not to come back without a Club (which all feature winners get)," said Todd Kane from victory lane Sunday night at New Rome Speedway. "She'll be so happy." The feature win for Kane did not disappoint his car owner a he recorded his first Club All Star feature win of the season and first career All Star win for Ohio car owners Junior and Janet Holbrook, worth $4,000.

Kane, aboard Holbrook's bright yellow Schnee, finished a half-straightaway ahead of Frankie Kerr after 30 laps of action with Ricky Hood third and All Star points leader Dale Blaney fourth. Danny Smith was fifth.

With the six fastest cars inverted for the start of round three of the All Star Summer Sizzler Series, Smith took the lead from the outside pole, with third starting Kane next ahead of polesitter Daniel Coggeshell's Viper and Kerr's Stan Shoff J&J. Co eshell was out after a lap two caution when his axle broke after a tangle with Keith Kauffman, who ended up with a flat tire. Kauffman was able to get a new tire on his Wahlie Motorsports Maxim and restart on the back of the pack.

Kane kept the pressure on Smith's Jenkins following the restart, and after six laps of trying moved under Smith and into the lead. Kenny Jacobs was now third with Kerr fourth and Blaney fifth.

Kerr kept trying every trick in the book to get around Jacobs, and finally did so on lap 14, and by the halfway point Kerr was challenging Smith for second. Lap 16 saw Kerr take over the number two position, and he was right on Kane's tail when a yell flew on lap 17 for a stalled Mike Lutz. Hood was now up to third after starting ninth, with Smith holding down fourth.

Jacobs was presuring Smith for the fourth spot when he tapped the wall on lap 20, moving him back to seventh and out of contention as Kane continued to lead over Kerr and Hood's Joe Herrera Avenger. Blaney made a late charge in Tim Hughes' J&J to pas Smith and Kauffman for fourth with just five laps to go, and the top five finished in that order.

Kauffman held on for sixth over Jacobs' Warren Johnson Schnee. Randy Hammer's rode his J&J home seventh for his best All Star finish of the season over Greg Wilson and Jack Haga.

Blaney set fast time over the 17 car field and Hood won the ButlerBuilt heat. Jacobs took the United Expresslines heat and the Commercial Truck & Trailer dash.
