FREMONT, OH - July 05, 2000 - Frankie Kerr retired on his terms...he went out a winner in his last race, the Ohio Sprint Speedweek show on Tuesday, June 27 at Fremont Speedway. Kerr, the four-time champion of the All Star Circuit of Champions, stunned many fans with his retirement announcement. As a tribute to the Fremont, Ohio transplant, Fremont Speedway and the All Star Circuit of Champions will team up for a special night of racing in honor of Kerr. The All Star Circuit of Champions will race at Fremont on Frankie Kerr Night, Saturday, Sept. 9. The event will pay $6,000 to win ($500 to start the A-Main). "Fremont's fans love Frankie Kerr and we wanted to give them a chance to say goodbye to this very talented driver," said Fremont Promoter Jim Ford. "What better way to do that than with an All Star show." Kerr has been racing sprints for over 30 years, the last 11 with owner Stan Shoff in the familiar 23s. Kerr moved his family from Pennsylvania to Fremont a few years back and quickly made Fremont Speedway his home, as he beat the best in the business in World of Outlaws shows and All Star shows at "the Track That Action Built." Kerr recorded top victories this season at Fremont Speedway including his last race during the Ohio Sprint Speedweek Show. He is third on the all-time All Star Circuit of Champions feature win list.
