Sawyer Wins ASCS2 Multi Feature at Creek County

SAPULPA, Okla. (July 16, 2007) -- Scott Sawyer became the first repeat winner in ASCS2 Micro Sprint racing action this year by wiring the field in Monday night's 25-lap feature for the 600-cc Multis at Creek County Speedway in support of the second round of action for the 15th Annual ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek.

While Sawyer officially led all the way, he had his hands full much of the time with Zach Alley.

Alley actually battled past Sawyer exiting turn two on the seventh lap only to have the move negated by a caution for a turn four tangle.

Sawyer took full advantage, leading the rest of the way. Alley tried to mount a charge in the final laps, but fell just three car-lengths short as the checkered flag flew.

Ryan Duke took over the ASCS2 points lead with a third place finish, moving one point ahead of Chris Berreth, who finished fourth after starting 15th. Trey Marcham raced from 13th to round out the top five.

All three classes of ASCS2 Micro Sprints, including the Multis, Non-Wing and Restricted "A" Class will be in action this coming Sunday night, July 22, at Caney Speedway in Caney, KS.
