The 2000/2001 Australian Sprintcar Title is to be held at Brisbane International Speedway on February 8/9/10 and has already attracted forty (40) nominations from around Australia, with each driver aiming to add their name to the honor roll of the country's premier Championship event.
Heading the entry list is four times and reigning Australian Champion Garry Brazier, who will be driving for his father Steve with Mopar power and looking for win number five. Newly crowned WSS Champion Brooke Tatnell, runner-up Max Dumesny and third place-getter Skip Jackson will lead the pack of chasers looking to deny Brazier of another crown, with Brooke striving to win the only major sprintcar event in Australia that has so far eluded him. Queensland will be well represented with Darren Jensen the leading Qld contender following some great results at the recent WSS races at BIS, including a podium finish and fast time at the Australian Open on January 12. The race format will consist of time trials, four rounds of heat races, pole shuffle (top 8), and B-Main, with the top sixteen qualifiers making the A-Main Championship race.
