BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 11, 1999) - With the thermometer stuck above ninety degrees, Brad Fox, Kerry Norris and Lee Hobbs decimated the competition tonight as they returned to Victory Lane at Bloomington Speedway.

With a Pennzoil Cup on his mantle, Avon's Fox has proven he doesn't need breaks to win at Bloomington. But he got one in the first turn of the 25-lap feature, when pole starter Kevin Thomas caught an infield marker tire and flipped hard into the second turn. This advanced young Justin Marvel into the front row for the restart, and he took advantage by jumping quickly into the lead. Fox followed Marvel into second, and they pulled away from Levi Jones and Roger Chaudion.

Marvel maintained a couple car lengths between himself and Fox, until they caught slower traffic on lap 12. Racing into the third turn, Fox went high, trapping Marvel on the inside, behind the lapped car. Grabbing the lead at the head of the front stretch, Fox quickly sliced between two other cars, building a buffer back to Marvel. Fox was a straightaway ahead of Marvel at the finish, with Chaudion third, point leader Derek Scheffel in fourth, and Jonathan Vennard running a strong fifth.

"The Franklin Power Products car would go about anywhere tonight," Fox said to the crowd after his second Bloomington feature race win of the season. "My brother Steve told me before the race that if I came up on a guy that was running the bottom, just go to the top. It was a great run."

In the UMP Modified division, Kerry Norris scrapped his way from seventh starting spot to the front. It took ten laps for him to catch up with leader Mike Bowersox. But as he closed on Bowersox' bumper, the right rear suspension broke away from the frame, sending the red 25 spinning into the infield. With a clear track ahead of him, Norris opened more than a straightaway lead on Jack Taylor in second. Terry Trammell ran third, ahead of Richie Lex and Troy Jarvis.

Greg O'Neill and Lee Hobbs quickly drove away from the pack at the green flag for the Indiana Street Stock main event. In a race littered with numerous caution flags and damaged cars, Hobbs stalked O'Neill until the leader slipped high in the third turn. He immediately passed O'Neill on the inside. Hobbs built a three-second lead at the checkers for his third feature win of the season. O'Neill held on for second. Gerald Todd, Roy Bruce Jr. and Greg Miller filled the top five.
