Top Ten Points Awards Will Be Presented For Both Classes

(Bloomington, Ind. -- September 19, 2004) It's been a great season at Bloomington Speedway. Mike Miles and his crew have done their best all season to provide the fans with great motorsports entertainment. As much as we hate to see it end, we are at that time. It's time to run our final race, present the hardware and checks to the guys who have worked so hard for them all season, and to give the fans one last great show to get them through the long, cold winter.

Before we race next Saturday, the O'Neal Wood Products modified and the Tire Wheel Center super stock drivers will assemble in front of the grandstand and behind the flag stand to meet their fans and sign autographs. Official Bloomington Speedway programs will be distributed to the kids as long as supplies last. These programs are ideal for collecting the autographs that the kids will cherish forever. One of these guys may be the Tony Stewart of the future.

Following the autograph session, the top ten drivers in each class will receive substantial amounts of cash and a multitude of contingency awards. Brady Short and Ben DuBois, the division champions; will receive a $469 rocker/recliner. They will certainly enjoy it over the winter when they aren't busy building next season's car.

This is the first championship for both Short and DuBois; and they both put together amazing seasons. Short scored four feature wins and never finished out of the top ten. DuBois had one feature win and finished out of the top ten only once. In spite of their remarkable seasons Short won by 29 points while DuBois won by 40 points. Six O'Neal Wood Products modified drivers and 10 Tire & Wheel Center super stock drivers competed at every Bloomington Speedway race this season.

On September 25, we will put the spotlight on O'Neal Wood Products Open Wheel Modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks. Because the focus is generally on the sprint cars, these great competitors don't always get the attention that they deserve. We've seen fans leave early and miss the best racing of the evening. While these guys are mostly budget racers; there are lots of great racers among them; and what they may lack in financing, they more than make up for in enthusiasm and desire to win. On Saturday night they will be center stage with no distractions.

This special Saturday night race will give the drivers who haven't had the opportunity to race at Bloomington Speedway very often because they don't get off work in time an opportunity to race on the red clay. For many of them it may be their first visit to Bloomington Speedway. Since Brownstown Speedway will wrap up their season on September 18, you can probably expect a lot of their regulars to unload at Bloomington Speedway as well.

This program may well pull more cars than any show this season. The winner of each class will receive $1250, assuming the proper decals are displayed on his mount. Also, the payoff is higher than normal all the way back. Each driver who makes one of the features will receive a minimum of $100. And, on top of all of this, there will also be lap prize money paid. With this amount of money up for grabs, just about every car in the state should show up at Bloomington Speedway.

Gates will open at 3:00 PM, Hot Laps will begin at 5:00 PM followed immediately by the awards presentations and racing. There is a $25 per car entry fee. Grandstand admission for this special show is only $12; and pit admission is only $25. Overnight camping is permitted as are coolers. No Glass please.

Bloomington Speedway Final Points Standings

The Bloomington Speedway points standings are final. Kevin Briscoe, Brady Short, and Ben DuBois are our champions.

In route to his third championship, Kevin Briscoe's worst finish was third. He had six wins, five seconds, and a third.

In the O'Neal Wood Products modified division Brady Short had four victories and no finish out of the top ten.

Ben DuBois had a feature win in the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division; and he finished out of the top ten only once.
