Eric Stambaugh, who has been knocking at the door for several weeks, slammed it on the rest of the field in a dominating performance in the Inaugural Weldon Sterner Memorial for 410 sprinters at Lincoln Speedway Saturday night.

For Stambaugh, his first career Lincoln win was worth $5,500, thanks to the numerous individuals and businesses who pulled together to sponsor a race held to honor one of the Lincoln's former promoters.

"I was just running like somebody was on my tail the whole time," exclaimed the jubilant Stambaugh upon exiting the Floyd and Joyce Swope No.4 in victory lane. "This is my favorite place to race...I think everybody knew that from past years."

"To win one here in the 410...we were close a couple of times. The car was just awesome tonight. Jeff Brown's got us a really nice setup. I'm proud of him, Barry, Bill, Brian, Roy, Greg, Scott, and the rest of the team."

Stambaugh started eighth and was running third by the end of the second lap. He drove around Josh Wells for second on lap three and took the lead from Sam Schlosberg in turns three and four of lap four. He then drove away from the field, leading by as much as four and-a-half seconds when a 16th-lap red flag came out for a flipping Becca Anderson on turn four of lap 17. His final margin of victory was 2.74 seconds over second-place finisher Cris Eash, who started 11th and advanced through the field to claim second from Josh Wells on the 17th-lap restart.

Wells crossed third, with Kenny Jacobs and Lance Dewease completing the top five.

The start of the race was marred by a first-turn eight-car crash that landed points leader Fred Rahmer on his side and Dan Shetler upside down.

Rahmer made repairs and came back to finish seventh, inches behind sixth-place finisher Doug Esh. Brian Leppo, Schlosberg, and Kevin Drury completed the top ten.

Rahmer made it three wins in as many nights by claiming his ninth Lincoln race of the season later in the evening in the Manheim Auto Auction make-up feature from last week.

Rahmer, who started in the points leader's 12th starting spot, moved past Bobby Weaver for fifth as he completed the third lap and caught Scholsberg for third on lap 10. At the time, Josh Wells held nearly a two-second lead. Rahmer passed Jim Siegel for the runner-up spot on lap 12, then pulled onto the back bumper of Wells when the caution flew for Forsythe a second time after a spin on turn three.

Rahmer pulled the slider on Wells in the first and second turns on the restart, and drove away from the field for a 3.78-second win in his final local race before heading to Knoxville for the Nationals next week.

Siegel scored his second runner-up finish in three nights, with Wells, Brian Leppo, and Lance Dewease completing the top five. Sixth through tenth were Brian Montieth, Niki Young, Scholsberg, Kevin Drury, and Brook Weibley.

Former Lincoln 410 champ Dan Dietrich advanced from fourth to first on the first lap and led all 20 laps in becoming the ninth winner in nine races in the "358" sprint feature. He was the first of three Dietrichs to finish in the top ten.

Mark Zellers started on the pole and ran second the whole way, with tenth-starting Dave Neuman crossing third, Danny Dietrich fourth, and Brandon Grandstaff fifth. Completing the top ten were 18th-starting T.J. Stutts, points leader Chad Trout, Alan Krimes, Billy Dietrich, and Will Urkuski.

Career win leader Bernie Beard ended a nearly one-year winless streak by claiming his 72nd win in the Pigeon Hills in the 20-lap thundercar feature. Beard started ninth and was running second by the end of the first lap. He caught race-long leader Roy Warehime on lap three, and led the rest of the way. A caution on the final lap gave new point leader Mike Zeigler, Sr. one final chance to catch Beard, but Beard hung on for a .19-second win.
