TAMPA, FL - Kenny Jacobs stunned a stellar field of 360 sprint car stars from 17 states as he won the opening feature of the King of the 360's Winternationals Thursday at East Bay Raceway. The 25 lap feature was filled with yellow and red flags due to several high speed accidents. The last five laps had the fans on their feet as Jacobs, aboard the Holbrook Racing 8H, nipped defending track champ Kenny Adams by a tire at the finish. Four of the top six cars crashed early with Ernie Teed taking the hardest multiple flip on the seventh lap after coming from his tenth row starting spot to run sixth before the flip. Sport Allen took third after a race long battle with Adams for second. Terry McCarl and Travis Rilat were next. Adams opened the night with a new track record of 14.435 after 10 cars broke the old record. Jacobs won $1,000 in the Jean Lynch Appreciation Dash with heats to Paulie Milum, Michael Dupuy, Mike Woodring, Gene Lasker and Gary Wright. Jamie Passmore won the C main and Glenn Forbes captured the B Main.
