SYRACUSE, N.Y. - On Friday night, July 6th, the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001 will make it's first stop of the year at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, N.Y. It's tradition that the opening show on the ESS schedule is at the Yates County oval in April, but early season snow forced cancellation. Now the ESS stars and cars will join a full card of Black Rock divisions for a wild, hot Summer night in July.

For the first time under Lin Hough's rein, the sprints will headline the card with the DIRT 358 modifieds which will see the stands packed to the gills. Local favorites Lance Yonge, Bubby Kerrick as well as top stars such as six-time ESS champion Mike Woodring and the ever exciting Dan Kaszubinski will share pit space with DIRT stars Steve Paine and Charlie Donk.

The event will also have added incentive as it will be a ESS/URC Syracuse Super Shootout qualifier. The winner of the 20 lap A-Main will earn a guaranteed starting berth in the 20 mile, $5000 to win, $30,000 contest to be held on the Syracuse mile as part of Super DIRT Week. Yonge is defending champion of the Shootout and would like to get his first ever Black Rock sprint win on this night.

Three Brodix Cylinder Heads heat events will kick off the action followed by the Lane's Yamaha/Walt's Hobby Dash and the KSE Racing Products B-Main. All that will lead up to the grand finale which will award the winner over $2000 in cash and prizes.

"America's Race Cars" are coming to the home of the Bully Hill Vineyards Super Sprint Fall Nationals on July 6th, ESS Tour 2001 excitement guaranteed!!
