ESS: Hoosier Tires sign on for 2003

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- As the Empire Super Sprints enter it's 20th anniversary season, the Hoosier Tire Company of Western, NY and Canada comes aboard as the official right rear tire for the 2003 season. In a deal through Bicknell Racing Products each sprint car that enters as ESS event will be on a stamped Hoosier tire for the night's events.

The Hoosier tire deal benefits all ESS teams in two different areas: The 18 inch right rear tire that is widely used with the World of Outlaws as well as most other sprint sanctions will be available for a discounted price of $152. Also, Hoosier Tire of Western, NY and Canada will be a major point fund contributor for ESS in the 2003 season. Not only will teams save considerably on each right rear tire purchased but will see a significant addition to the already lucrative Empire Super Sprints year end points fund.

The main tire of choice will be the very popular RD15 compound but teams will also have the D20 choice for more abrasive tracks. Tires will be available from Bicknell Racing Products in Niagara Falls, N.Y. by mid-March and will also be at each New York state track carried by Red's Speed Shop. Red Kosinski will not only be the tire supplier at the track but he will also have fuel available for the teams as well.

The 20th anniversary celebration will begin Saturday night, April 12th at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, N.Y. Eight-time ESS champion Mike Woodring will be in the field along with teammate, female sensation Erin Crocker. While a full assault in the ESS championship is up in the air for Woodring Racing, top ESS stars such as Lance Yonge, Dan Kaszubinski, Bill Coffey, Mike Lutz, Mike Stelter and others will be gunning for their first ever ESS crown.

The 2003 racing season is approaching rapidly and not only does the new year promises to be the most exciting ever but teams will also be vying for the most money in ESS history. A purse increase has been established and sponsorships will find a record total as well. It's the 20th Anniversary ESS Tour 2003 and it will be excitement guaranteed!!!
