IN VICTORY LANE AT GREENWOOD VALLEY By Than Mitchell
Trevor Lewis, one-time a regular and now occasional competitor in Regular Micro Sprints at the Action Track, made his way through traffic to win the feature event on Saturday night. A minimum of yellow flags and a 24 car starting field gave Lewis a crowded race track through which he skillfully maneuvered. Last week's feature winner, Joe Bednarski, Wyoming, hounded Lewis every inch of the race track but was unable to pass, placing second. Third place went to Eric Perchak, Hazelton, followed by Jeff Furlong, Selinsgrove; Brent Boyer, Bloomsburg; Damian Fulcher; Brian Scandle, Harveys Lake; A.J. Walters, Bloomsburg; Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg and Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove.
Neil Petock, Bloomsburg, another former regular, returned to the Action Track in great style winning the Rookie Micro Sprint Feature. Petock, 20, who has been trying his hand in racing cars with doors on some area half mile ovals, needed only a couple of heats and warm-ups for his Micro Sprint touch to return. Petock's new race machine, formerly owned by Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, was the fast car of the field. Following Petock across the line came Scott Miller, Slatington; Chad Thomas, New Berlin; Ralph Ferraro; Josh Phillpott, Waverly, NY; Dan Erdy; Scott Lawrence, Conklin, NY; Billy Graves, Port Crane, NY, and John Roberts, Millville.
Join us at the Greenwood Valley Action Track, four miles east of Millville, next Saturday afternoon and evening for another adventure on the one-fifth mile clay oval. Gates open at 3:00, warm-ups at 5:30 followed by a full program of Kart and Micro Sprint action. See you at the Action Track.
