IN VICTORY LANE AT GREENWOOD VALLEY By Than Mitchell

Skeetz Hockenbroch picked up his first Feature win since moving into the Regular Micro Sprint division a few weeks ago. Hockenbroch, let out his trademark rebel yell pulling into Victory Lane, then thanked everyone in sight for the help that they have given him with engine building and chassis adjustment and, the always important, moral support. Hockenbroch led hard-charging, Hazelton native, Eric Perchak, through heavy traffic to take the night's top prize.

Finishing third, behind Perchak, was Joe Bednarski, Wyoming, Pa, followed by Troy "Buster" Whitesell, Selinsgrove; Brent Boyer, Bloomsburg; David Utt, Bloomsburg; Ryan Frable, Penn Argyl; Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove; Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg and Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills.

Rebel yells were popular Saturday night as Jerry Mack of Selinsgrove demonstrated his vocal prowess in Victory Lane after showing his driving ability on the race track in the Rookie Micro Sprint Feature. Mack, a mechanic when he's not behind the wheel of his Micro Sprint, was a first time winner at the Greenwood Valley Action Track; a drive made more difficult by a wet, muddy track. Just before the Regular Micro Sprint Consolation, a passing thunderstorm deluged the track and it was still damp during the Rookie Feature.

Mack was hounded as he wound through heavy traffic by Braydon Winters, Easton, and Jared Ferri, Gouldsboro, who finished second and third. In fourth was Bree Boyer of Bloomsburg, trailed by Jason Wagner, Port Trevorton; Dave Williams, Exton; John Roberts, Millville; Dick Huzzard, Spring City; Jake Park, Rome, Pa, and Scott Miller, Slatington.

Join us for warm-ups at 5:30 and heats at 6:00 next Saturday night at the Greenwood Valley Action Track; 3 1/2 miles east of Millville on route 254 then left at the Greenwood Friends School. You'll find family entertainment at it's best at the Action Track, where you can plan to eat at the two snack bars and enjoy grassroots racing on our one-fifth mile clay oval. See you at the Action Track.
