From Victory Lane at Greenwood Valley . . . . By Than Mitchell

Joe Bednarski who lives in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, had a much better night this week than last. While dueling for the lead, Bednarski was involved in a last corner incident that cost him the race. This week, he came out of the second row, shot to the front of the field, and brought home the win in the Regular Micro Sprint Feature at Greenwood Valley Action Track near Millville. Troy "Buster" Whitesell, Selinsgrove, was the pole sitter for this week's feature, but slipped to second then hung on until the final flag. Third went to Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg, followed by Trevor Lewis; Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck; Chad Behler, Effort; Damian Fulcher; Scott Kishbaugh, Nescopeck; Jim Sitler, Berwick; and Brent Boyer of Bloomsburg.

Some of the best racing of the night developed during the Rookie Micro Sprint Feature, ultimately won by Blaine Heimach, Selinsgrove. Braydon Winters of Easton, flew from the pole and was chased and challenged by several of the young chargers but held them off successfully until engine failure sent the disappointed driver to the pits. With Winters gone, Heimbach moved into the lead and second place went to Jake Park, Rome, followed by Jared Ferri, Gouldsboro; Scott Miller, Slatington; Mike Kepler; Chad Thomas, New Berlin; Ralph Ferraro; Dave Luethe; Rick Morris, Catawissa and Terry Peters, Tower City.

The excitement continues next week at the Greenwood Valley Action Track, located 4 miles east of Millville. Bring the kids, plan to eat dinner at the track, and find out about the best kept secret in motor sports; racing on a clay oval. Gates open at 3:00, warm-ups at 5:30, so come early and enjoy the fun.
