Jason Johnson Wires ASCS Gulf South on Sunday at 105

CLEVELAND, Texas (September 2, 2007) -- Louisiana's Jason Johnson racked up his second win of the weekend by wiring Sunday night's 25-lap American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region feature at 105 Speedway.

Starting from the pole position, Johnson outgunned Tommy Bryant for the lead at the drop of the green flag. Johnson survived a pair of cautions along the way to post his twelfth overall ASCS feature win of the year aboard Lanny Row's Wesmar-powered The Shop Motorsports/Custom Equipment Design No. 41 Eagle.

Johnson was chased to the line by Travis Rilat, with Bryant, Greg Rilat and Ray Allen Kulhanek rounding out the top five. After suffering engine woes in his regular mount, Kulhanek stayed in championship contention by piloting the mount regularly driven by Brandi Miller.

Brandon Berryman crossed the stripe sixth, with Chris Sweeney earning Hard Charger honors by racing from 14th to seventh. Darryl Wills was eighth, while Skip Wilson rebounded to finish night after a lap eight tangle with Justin Melton while running fourth. Gary Watson completed the top ten.

Travis Rilat, Kent Lewis, Jr., Johnson and Wilson topped heat race action, with Watson and Jamie Will winning the Twin "B" Mains.
