Love's ASCS Gulf South Region Adds Pike County Event
TULSA, Okla. (June 15, 2005) -- The Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region has added another event to the 2005 slate, as the series will take to Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS, on October 15.
The First Annual Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Mississippi State Championship event atop the high-banked, 3/8-mile Pike County Speedway clay oval will offer $1,500 to the winner with $300 to start the main event.
The October 15 season finale for the Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region will mark the series first visit to Pike County Speedway since April 2003. New track owner J.F. Gasquet looks forward to the series return. "I can't wait to see the ASCS sprints on this track, they're going to put on a great show," Gasquet commented. "Hopefully, we can have them here several times next year."
With the addition of the Pike County Speedway event, the 2005 slate for the Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region now consists of 24 events at a dozen different tracks throughout Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
