Higday to represent Knoxville at Fall Sprint Nationals

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 3, 2004) - Josh Higday, the 2002 Brodix Tournament of Champions winner and that year's 'Rookie of the Knoxville Nationals', will team with Knoxville-based sprint car owner Steve Wares to invade the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, New York, for the September 10-11 Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals. Higday will represent the Knoxville Raceway in the $4,000-to-win Saturday night finale, as well as in one of the three Friday night $1,000-to-win "Sweet 16" preliminary mains and the $500-to-win Beam Mack/Western Snow Plow All-Star Dash.
The Des Moines resident will compete against some of the best in the business as he takes on Black Rock Speedway (BRS) track champion and Patriot Sprint Group (PSG) point leader George Suprick, Empire Super Sprints (ESS) point leader Lance Yonge, United Racing Club (URC) point leader Curt Michael, United Sprint Car Series (USCS) star and former "360 Driver of the Year" Kenny Adams, National Racing Alliance (NRA) standout Darren Long, and defending Fall Sprint Nationals champion Scott Bonnell of Mercer Raceway Park (MRP). It is expected that a couple of representatives of the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS) will also be in attendance.
Over seventy of the best 360 racers in eastern Canada and the United States are expected to compete in open-wheel racing's crown jewel of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Former champions of the Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals include Craig Keel of New York (1999), George Suprick of Pennsylvania (2000, '01), current World of Outlaws owner Mike Woodring of New York (2002), and Scott Bonnell of Pennsylvania (2003). Besides Higday (KNOX), Suprick (PSG), and Adams (URC), other All-Star Dash qualifiers include Rick Wilson (ESS), Jeff Van Dusen (ESS), point champion Mike Brecht (NRA), Rich Swarthout (BRS), Brian Seidel (URC), Chuck Hebing (PSG), Blake Breen (BRS), Cody Geldart (SOS) and Chris Shuttleworth (MRP).
Other hotshoes expected to compete for the Bully Hill Vineyards crown are Mal Lane of BRS, Dan Kaszubinski, Justin Barger and Alain Bergeron of ESS, Bryan Howland of PSG, and Kevin Welsh, Dave McGough, Sean Michael and Kramer Williamson of URC.
