Knoxville ToC point leaders from 13 sanctions entered

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (July 31, 2003) - Billy Alley of Lincoln, Nebraska, Randi Miller of Rapid City, South Dakota, Chris Coyle of Wilmington, Delaware, Clair "Bubby" Kerrick, Jr., of Stanley, New York, and Mike Lutz of Mercer, Pennsylvania, are the latest 'hot shots' to enter the Sunday, August 10th Brodix 360-cubic-inch sprint car Tournament of Champions at the Knoxville Raceway. Miller is the current American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Rocky Mountain Region point leader, while Lutz leads the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) point standings.

According to Knoxville director of racing Ralph Capitani, "It looks like we're going to wind up with 78 drivers eligible to run this year's invitational from the 90 entries that we've received. And I think the final entries are some of the strongest, as Billy Alley and Randi Miller have been two of the most successful '360' drivers so far this year, along with Gary Wright of the ASCS National Tour. And certainly Easterners like Lutz, Kerrick and Coyle will be tough to beat on our big track."

Miller of ASCS Rocky Mountain and Lutz of ESS join fellow point leaders Dave Ely of United Racing Club (URC), Tyson Hart of Sprint Invaders Association (SIA), Rick Ideus of Eagle Sprint Touring Series (ESTS), Kevin Ramey of American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Sooner Region, Darren Stewart of ASCS, Jesse Giannetto of Knoxville Raceway, Roger Crockett of Northern Sprint Tour (NST), Dustin Daggett of Sprints On Dirt (SOD), Eric Schrock of Winged Outlaw Warriors (WOW), Mason Hill of Montana Sprint Tour (MST) and Roger Rager of the WISSOTA Promoters Association as entrants in the prestigious $4,000-to-win 'national championship' invitational. In addition, entries have recently been received from Matt Moro of Knoxville, John Van Den Berg of Knoxville, Bill Johnson of SOD, James Shoun of ASCS Sooner Region, and Chris Roseland of ESTS.

This year, an expected 78 competitors from fifteen sanctions will be invited to compete under one common set of rules utilizing the Brodix ASCS spec head. Drivers must enter the Brodix ToC and have competed in a minimum of sixty-percent of their sanction's events by July 31st in order to even be eligible to compete. A maximum of ten invitations will then be issued from each affiliate's point standings, in order, from the point leader on down. The fifteen participating sanctions are: American Outlaw Action Series (AOAS), American Sprint Car Series (ASCS), ASCS-Gulf South, ASCS-Rocky Mountain, ASCS-Sooner, Empire Super Sprints (ESS), Eagle Sprint Touring Series (ESTS), Knoxville Raceway (KNOX), Montana Sprint Tour (MST), Northern Sprint Tour (NST), Sprint Invaders Association (SIA), Sprints On Dirt (SOD), United Racing Club (URC), WISSOTA Promoters Association (WISSOTA), and Winged Outlaw Warriors (WOW).
