Lincoln Speedway Rain out 1999-09-04

TROPICAL STORM DENNIS WINS ABEL MEMORIAL; Entire Memorial Evening Rescheduled for October 16th

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 9/4/99 - Rain bands emanating from Tropical Storm Dennis moved into the Pigeon Hills earlier than anticipated, forcing Lincoln Speedway officials to postpone the entire Bobby Abel Memorial racing program until Saturday, October 16th.

That means the 5th Annual Bobby Abel Memorial for sprint cars, along with the 358 sprints, and the INEX Legends will be back to close out the 1999 Lincoln Speedway racing season .

Still to be determined is the status of the 1999 Cindy Rowe Auto Glass super sprint point series. Saturday’s race was to be the last points race of the season. Lincoln promoters will look over several possible options before making an official announcement later this week.

Lincoln Speedway will host a 358 Sprint Championship race next week, Saturday - September 11th. The 358 sprints will be joined the ARDC Midgets in their final visit to the Pigeon Hills oval in 1999. The thundercars will also be in action with a special Thundercar Manufacturers Race. Racing action gets underway at 7:30 PM, with gates opening at 5 PM.
