MAIER PROTECTS O'REILLY/NCRA SPRINT SERIES LEAD AT BELLEVILLE

BELLEVILLE, Kan. (July 28, 2005) -- Garry Lee Maier protected his O'Reilly/NCRA Sprint series points lead with a clean sweep of the field Thursday at the Belleville Highbanks.

Maier won the opening heat then led Derek Drown to the checkered for his third victory of the season. Rookie Chad Humston finished third ahead of defending champion Steve King in fourth and rookie points leader Preston Peebles fifth.
