C.J. Johnson Tops ASCS Rocky Mountain Region at Rock Springs

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (June 9, 2007) -- Kansas race C.J. Johnson moved atop the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region point charts by racing to victory lane in Saturday night's 25-lap feature at Sweetwater Speedway.

Johnson emerged from an early-race battle with defending series champion Patrick Bourke to take command then held on the rest of the way to post his third career series win aboard the Two Dot Tech No. 45x Maxim.

Bourke led the way to the green flag from the pole position and paced the opening six rounds, but it was fifth-starter Johnson on the move.JJohnson raced into the lead on the seventh round, only to have Bourke quickly return the favor.

Johnson raced right back into the lead though and was chased the final 17 circuits by Bourke and Keith Rauch, who rounded out the podium finishers. Chris Adams snared fourth, with Dustin Hall rounding out the top five.
