Thirty-seven cars and a large crowd. Original start of the 30-lap main was halted when Tony Jones came to a stop in turn two. Jones had to go to the back. Preparing to get the green for the restart, pole sitter John Scott touched wheels with Danny Sheridan and lost it. Scott had to go to the back (after restarting at the back, he came all the way to seventh). Jones was involved in another tangle and was out due to the two-stop rule. Kruseman took the lead from Sheridan about lap seven and went on to his 14th win of the season setting a new SCRA single season record.

Steve Ostling got upside down trying to avoid another car on lap six. He was uninjured, but the car was done for the night. Rip Williams broke a driveline while running second on lap 18.
