SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Sunday night's racing card of main events at Selinsgrove Speedway saw Scott Haus of Hamburg pull off his second career win in the Sunbury Motors 17th annual Bob Bender Memorial for late models. The victory in the 30-lap tribute event was Haus' third of the season at Selinsgrove Speedway.

During Saturday night's qualifying, Dale Kerstetter of Liverpool set a new one lap late model track record of 20.150.

Chad Layton of Harrisburg also returned to Victory Lane for his third win of the season at the Snyder County oval in the 25-lap sprint car feature. The win for Layton was his seventh overall in 2003.

Kyle Bachman of Selinsgrove won his eighth main event of the season in the 15-lap pro stock feature, while Brad Mitch of McClure and Joe Keister of Middleburg were winners of the roadrunner main events.

The speedway was in action on Sunday because Saturday night's main events were postponed by rain after all the qualifying events were completed.

Selinsgrove Speedway returns to racing action this Saturday, August 16, with a program of sprints, late models, pro stocks and roadrunners sponsored by Harry's U-Pull It Auto Parts. Track gates open at 5 p.m., with the first official green flag falling at 7 p.m.

In the thrilling sprint car feature, 12th-place starter Chad Layton passed second-place starter Jake Radabaugh on the final lap for the victory. Radabaugh led the first 24 laps of the main event and was challenged by sixth-place starter Brian Powell until the 21st circuit.

On lap 22, fifth-place starter Kyle Purks moved into second and put in a bid for the lead, but a caution flag rescinded Purks' pass for the lead. Layton, who joined the battle in the top five at the halfway point, stormed to the front and pulled off the last-lap victory over Radabaugh, Purks, TJ Stuts and Nate Snyder.

In the Bender Memorial for late models, polesitter Alan Sagi led the first eight laps of the event until fourth-place starter Jason Covert powered into the first position. Once in front, Covert began to stretch his lead over Sagi and second-place starter Eric Hons.

On the 10th lap, 24th-place starter Scott Haus entered into the top three. Haus then got by Sagi for second and set his sights on Covert. With 10 laps remaining, nearly a straightaway separated Covert and Haus.

On the 27th circuit, Haus made the winning pass using the inside lane in turn three. Haus went on to post the win by a mere .84 of a second margin over Covert, Sagi, Hons and Dale Kerstetter.

In the pro stock feature, eighth-place starter Kyle Bachman passed fourth-place starter Gerald Kratzer on lap five for the lead. Bachman then held off sixth-place starter Nate Kerstetter for the remaining 10 laps for the win.

Kratzer, Jake Buck and Chad Keister completed the top five.

In the night's first roadrunner main event, third-place starter Brad Mitch wired the field for the win. Mitch held off fifth-place starter Joey Keister to the finish. Matt Drum, Cory Long and Chris Eckert completed the top five.

Sixth-place starter Joey Keister passed fourth-place Brad Mitch on the ninth circuit to take the lead in the second roadrunner feature. Keister went on to win the event over Mitch, Cory Long, Don Scheib and Chris Eckert.
