SELINSGROVE, PA -- The time trials were completed when heavy persistent rains pelted Selinsgrove Speedway Sunday evening at approximately 7:30 PM, postponing the remainder of the Middleswarth Potato Chips Pennsylvania Speedweek finale to Monday night, July 7 at 7:30. Gates will open at 5:30 with action resuming two hours later.
The second late model heat event was on the speedway with one lap completed when the rain began falling. Action will resume with one lap complete in the second late model heat Monday evening.
Sunday night's rainchecks will be honored Monday night. General admission for any new fans that wish to take in the program will remain at $20 with pit passes remaining at $22.
Any new drivers who wish to compete in the program will be allowed to tag to the rear of the sprint car and late model heat event events.
After sprint car qualifying Sunday night, Fred Rahmer continues to lead speedweek points with 889 points followed by Lance Dewease, 790; Greg Hodnett, 777; Sean Michael, 765; and Keith Kauffman, 683. Rahmer is trying to garner a seventh career speedweek title.
After Monday's conclusion to the speedweek series, the 2003 Middleswarth Potato Chips Susquehanna Valley 410 Sprint Series returns to Selinsgrove Speedway for the Labor Day Classic on September 1.
