Jennings Cracks ASCS Sooner Region Winner's Circle at Ada

ADA, Okla. (September 4, 2004) - Danny Jennings broke into the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region victory lane for the first time this season by topping Saturday night's non-stop 25-lap feature at Oklahoma Sports Park.

Polesitter Tony Bruce, Jr., outgunned fellow front row starter Preston Peebles II to take command at the drop of the green flag. Bruce paced the early rounds before Jennings raced into the lead on the sixth round.

In just his second night aboard a new Maxim, Jennings proceeded to race to his first American Sprint Car Series Sooner Region triumph of the season aboard the Goodyear/Lucas Oil Products No. 61j. The 2002 Sooner Region champion was chased to the stripe by Bruce, with Danny Wood claiming the show position.

Nick Smith battled into second at one point as the leaders raced through lapped traffic before settling for fourth, with rookie shoe Peebles rounding out the top five.

Defending series champion and current point leader Kevin Ramey crossed the stripe sixth in front of Larry Neighbors and Foster Landon. Gary Owens cracked the top ten in points with a ninth place finish, with 2001 Sooner Region champion J.P. Bailey completing the top ten.

Pursuing his second consecutive series championship, Ramey moved 14 points ahead of Andy Shouse in the Sooner Region title chase.
