Bryn Gohn is ASCS Southern Tour Asphalt Ace
ALTAMAHAW, N.C. (June 1, 2007) -- Twenty-one-year-old Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL, etched his name into the American Sprint Car Series record backs by topping the first asphalt race in series history with a triumph in Friday night's 35-lap ASCS Southern Tour feature at Ace Speedway.
Gohn took command early and led throughout to post his first career ASCS feature win aboard Kenny Adams' Don Ott-powered Goodson Farms No. 4a Shaw in the non-stop feature event atop the 4/10-mile asphalt oval that took less than eight minutes to complete.
Gohn was chased to the checkered flag by current series point leader Johnny Bridges, with Brian Smith taking the show position. After establishing a new track record of 13.28 seconds in qualifying, Kenny Adams finished fourth in the feature with Stephen Darvalics rounding out the top five.
