Burns Over Bridges in Lancaster ASCS Southern Tour Action

LANCASTER, South Carolina (June 10, 2006) -- Jimmy Burns recorded his first career American Sprint Car Series feature victory by outlasting Johnny Bridges in Saturday night's 25-lap Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour feature event at Lancaster Motor Speedway.

Burns and Bridges diced in heated fashion over the final rounds in the series debut at Lancaster with Burns prevailing to take the checkered flag aboard the Don Ott-powered J.A. Burns Trucking/Heintz Performance No. 1b Maxim.

In a bid for his third series win of the season, Bridges settled for the runner-up slot in front of Coby Adams, Brian Smith and Lance Moss, with Jeff Young, current series point leader Butch Pendergrass, Tim Perry, Bill Moore and Dale Blackwelder completing the top ten.

Smith and Pendergrass were victorious in heat race action.
