Gregg Wins ASCS Southwest Season Finale as Ziehl Takes Title
TUCSON, Ariz. (October 18, 2008) -- Ben Gregg added his eighth American Sprint Car Series Southwest Region feature win of the season by racing to victory lane in Saturday night's 25-lap feature at USA Race Park.
While Gregg added another win, it was Las Cruces, NM, shoe Rick Ziehl putting the finishing touches on the inaugural ASCS Southwest Region championship by posting a third-place finish behind Gregg and Shawn Sander.
El Paso's Sander led the initial 18 rounds of the season finale before Gregg took command. Gregg, Sander and Ziehl were chased to the line by Jessica Van Dyke, with John Carney, Jr., charging from the tail of the field to round out the top five.
Joshua Williams, Sander and Gregg topped heat race action.
