TULSA, Okla. (January 23, 2004) -- With the Sprint Bandits series poised to embark upon its first season, Tim Dossey and Jenny Hutton have joined the Sprint Bandits staff to increase manpower as the final touches are made on the 2004 schedule.

A native Tulsan, Dossey's racing background is extensive, dating back to years playing a vital role crewing for Emmett Hahn's multi-championship winning John Zink racing team. Dossey joined the Sprint Bandits team in October, also lending his efforts toward American Sprint Car Series and Chili Bowl Midget Nationals activities.

Hutton has just relocated to Tulsa after nearly ten years in Knoxville, IA, where she served as scorer the entire time at the famed Knoxville Raceway. A native Australian, Hutton landed stateside in Knoxville after years of involvement in auto racing in Australia.

Dossey and Hutton join the current Sprint Bandits staff in finalizing the 2004 Sprint Bandits schedule and guiding the series into the future.

Founded by Emmett Hahn, the Sprint Bandits series has been created in an effort to revitalize 410-ci Sprint Car racing by utilizing cost-cutting rules including the use of a series head, spec right rear tire and eliminating the wicker bill on wings. These rules will also combine to unhook the cars, thereby making the driver a greater part of the equation, resulting in more competitive Sprint Car racing.

The Sprint Bandits series has also unveiled an innovative new racing format, including the use of passing points in both Heat Races and Qualifying Races to determine feature lineups, which is designed to deliver more competitive racing for the benefit of fans and drivers alike.

Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, is slated to host the first ever Sprint Bandits event on March 19-20. Other events on the current schedule include Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS, on March 27 and Knoxville Raceway on May 29. The Sprint Bandits will also take on the USAC National Sprints in a non-wing challenge, non-point event at Memphis Motorsports Park on May 7, with a $5,000 bonus on tap for any Sprint Bandits regular that can top USAC's wingless aces.

Dossey and Hutton will lead the way in the preparation of the balance of the approximately 20-25 race schedule, which is expected to be announced as early as the end of next week.
