ASCS Sprints on Dirt Announce Organizational Changes
TULSA, Okla. (January 15, 2008) -- With the kickoff of the 2008 Sprint Car racing season just around the corner, several organizational changes for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz have been announced.
The changes result from the demands created by running a series while also juggling the a full-time job and family, with the role of Series Director being eliminated in favor a Management Team for 2008.
After serving as series director in 2007, Mike Olrich will be in a new position as the Tech Director and will also serve as Pit Stewart for each ASCS Sprints on Dirt event.
Jason Fausey, who served as ASCS Sprints on Dirt series coordinator for several years prior to the 2007 season, returns to the series in 2008 and will serve as Competition Director on race day.
Pat Holzinger will be on board in 2008, running the ASCS Sprints on Dirt tent at each event.
Also returning in 2008 will be Jamie Osborn and T.J. Buffenbarger. Jamie if the official ASCS Sprints on Dirt scorer, while Buffenbarger serves as the announcer at each event and as the Media Liaison between the ASCS Sprints on Dirt and ASCS headquarters.
Dain Naida is handling the business side of the ASCS Sprints on Dirt in the off-season, including the scheduling of events. Naida and Olrich are currently busy acquiring sponsors for the 2008 season.
The final touches are currently being placed on a schedule that will include 25 point events in 2008, with the schedule for SOD's 29th year of competition to be released when all contracts are received.
