ST. Francois race report 2002-06-22

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 22, 2002) Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown drove his #32 sprint car back to victory lane Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway. The two-time defending track champion had to hold off the challenge of Ronnie Standridge to pick up the win. Bob Thoman finished in third place with Rod Crabdree fourth and Jason Keith fifth. They were followed by Larry Dudley, Brett Sammons, Greg Burns, Jeremy Standridge and Keith Burch.

In the Modified class, Timmy Hill picked up the feature checkered flag with Billy "the Kid" Smith taking second, Mike Crader third, Bob Waterhouse fourth and Matt Zimmerly fifth. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Jeremy Stephens, Danny Resinger, Ryan Gegg and R.C. Hovis. In the Hobby Stock feature, Karl Francis was the winner with Kenny Harris taking second, Jeremy Greenwalt third, Matt Eaton fourth and Doug Savage fifth. They were followed by Mike Francis, Billy Mayberry, Mark Howell, Brad Mashek and Tim Phares.

In the 600cc Multi feature race, Lance McKinney just continued to find his was across the finish line first by winning his third consecutive feature at SFCR. Junior Ferguson finished in second place with Tommy Boyd taking third, Dustin Barks fourth and Daniel Adler fifth. They were followed by Brad Loggat, Jimmy Bridgeman, Brian Keen, Joey Boyd and Matt Dotson.

Racing action at the St. Francois County Raceway will continue this Saturday night and the RAMS Mini Stocks will be making a special appearance. They will first run their rained-out feature from April from the RAMS Point Series and then they will participate in the regular program along with the Sprints, Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Multis.
