KEITH WOODSON TAKES TRAIL-WAY 600cc FEATURE

Nik Gower gets 2nd win of '05 season; Jamie Lloyd wins 1st classic car feature of the season

HANOVER, PA, 6/11/05 -- Keith Woodson who is no stranger to victory lane at Trail-Way Speedway, claimed his first win of the 2005 season. Woodson's #2K sprinter took the lead on the 11th lap and led up until the final lap of the race. The race was shortened due to several cautions and a mandatory time length being reached.

Polesitter Timothy Gladfelter led the first three laps of the race, and then handing it over to Jesse Snyder who also has several feature wins at Trail-Way.

On lap eight, Woodson passed Snyder for the lead, but was sent back due to a caution involving Bill Schmidt and Paul Hively. On the restart Snyder pulled away, but Woodson's strong micro easily passed him coming to the 11th lap.

Following Woodson across the line were Snyder, last week's feature winner Dwayne Gutshall, Mark Strickler and points leader Shawn Seifert.

Completing the top ten were Gladfelter, Bruce Currey, Bill Gawler, Brent Marks, and Todd Spahr.

Heat winners were Sean Campbell, Snyder, DJ Montgomery and Paul Hively was the consolation winner.

In a non-stop classic car race, Jamie Lloyd picked up the first checkered flag of the season for the class. Lloyd grabbed the lead on the initial green, sending polesitter Jim Crocker to fight for second.

Allen Cullum who sat on the outside of the front row quickly maneuvered himself around Crocker but was unable to catch up with Lloyd's fast car.

Following Lloyd and Cullum across the line was Crocker, Mike Schultz, and Mark Jago. Joe Snodgrass, Jack Yingling, Rob Bellew, Bill Brown Jr, and Kurt Welsh who started at the rear of the field, completed the top ten.

Heat winners were Crocker, Cullum and Lloyd.

Nik Gower picked up the win in the 270cc division, for the second time in the 2005 season. Gower took the lead away from Dave Toomey on the 10th lap.

Gower's Contract Building sprinter pulled away from the field on the restarts and looked as if sailing into victory lane would be as easy as pie... until lapped traffic became a factor on the final lap of the race. Chad Myers' Moon Acre Iron Works #32 was quickly approaching Gower on the backstretch while Gower came to two cars on the tail end of the lead lap in the third turn. Gower sailed between the two cars as if it were never a problem and secured the win.

Myers followed Gower across the line. Mike Connors, Jim Still, and the 2004 270cc champion Billy Laughman completing the top five.

Rounding out the top ten were Chris Melton, Jesse Hare, Joe Trone Jr., Craig Myers, and Rick Hare.

In the first scramble car feature of the night, Roy Denike held off a charging Randy Crunkilton in the final laps to take the checkered flag to take his first win of the 2005 season.

In the second scramble car race of the night, Shawn Crunkilton dominated by leading all 12 laps of the race, and taking the checkered flag and taking his second win of the season. Crunkilton had a lengthy lead up until the final two laps of the feature. Josh Smith quickly approached Crunkilton's #00 once lapped traffic became a factor, but coming across the line Crunkilton stole the win.

In the 4 cylinder starlite stock division, Justin Mong took the checkered flag and in the 6 cylinder division Harry Shipe grabbed the win.
