Trail-Way Speedway results 2004-03-27

HANOVER, PA, 03/27/04 -- After what seemed like forever, "Big Tim" Dietz drove his way to victory lane in his first 600 micro sprint win of his illustrious racing career. Dietz, who picked up many titles in his previous racing endeavors included ARDC Rookie of the year, former mini sprint champion at Port Royal speedway, and former 410 sprint car driver. Dietz has been ran a regular schedule in the 600 micro sprint last year and planned on doing the same this year. It seemed his hard work finally paid off as he can now add this to his list of achievements.

Following Dietz across the line were Shawn Seifert, Jim Young, last weekend's feature winner Mark Strickler, and Duane Harbaugh. Gary Hunter, Sean Campbell, Ron Taggart, DJ Montgomery, and Kevin Bastian completed the top ten.

Heat winners for the thirty-one 600 micros in attendance were won by Seifert, Hunter and King.

Randy May, who is currently the leading all time winner in the 4 Cylinder Stock Car division, picked up the first Street Stock win of the 2004 season. May led all fifteen laps of the feature.

Robert Stough, Danny Beard, 2003 street stock track champion Doug King, and Charles Brittain completed the top five.

Ted Forsythe, Robert Stough, and King won the heat races for the street stocks.

Keith Woodson picked up his seventh career Trail-Way Speedway win in Saturday's afternoon 250 winged micro sprint feature face. Woodson dominated the entire race, leading all twenty laps. Woodson, followed by opening day winner Steve Buckwalter and Pete Skias who finished second the previous night at Linda's Speedway, followed in line the entire twenty laps as the rest of the field fought to gain position.

While racing for position back in the pack, a red flag ended the night for several cars as nine cars were accounted for in the end.

Last weekend's feature winner Brayden Winters was caught up in the red flag caution but repaired his flat tire and joined several of the other cars caught up in the caution back on the track.

Following Woodson across the line were Buckwalter, Skias, Joe Trone Jr., and Brad Weber. Jim Still, Heath Hehnly, Mike Connors, Nick Schlauch Jr., and Michael Schreiber completed the top ten.

Heat winners for the thirty-three 250 micros in attendance were won by Woodson, Bill Laughman and Nick Schlauch Jr.

Jimmy Combs who currently runs double duty at Trail-Way in both the 600 micro sprint class and the 4&6 cylinder scramble cars, picked up the scramble car feature race.
