Scotty Adema "Slices & Dices" at Citrus County Speedway!

The "Fort Myers Flash" Scotty Adema made it 3 in a row by blasting his way around the Citrus County Speedplant in fine form. Car owner Tommy Rice, Chief Mechanic Jerry Adema and the Motor City Transport Team had the J & J Sprinter up for the task, as was Adema who again dominated with his first of the season in front of the Citrus County Fairgrounds packed house.

Rod Sanders # 2 & Danny Jones # 99 made up the front row followed by the cars of Dennis Misuraca # 3 and Tim Holstein # 51 in row 2. At the drop of the green the two front row cars got together and both careened into the wall taking out the front row. Officials were called to the scene to separate the two drivers whose tempers flared. That excited the crowd.

This moved up the second row to the front. Misuraca now had the pole and used it to his advantage by blasting off of turn four to a smooth start at the flagstand. The "Dman" was in fine form in the "Sanford Missile" # 3 and stretched his lead to comfortable five car lengths by lap # 10.The beautiful white # 3d was showing her strength.

Tim Holstein chased Misuraca in the # 51 car. This was Holstein's first USA race on pavement and he was doing an outstanding job. Holstein has many East Bay Wins under his belt and brings a wealth of experience and race savvy with him. Geoffrey Styner slowed with mechanical problems in his Affordable Towing Schnee 15jr.

By Lap 11 "The Fort Myers Flash" was now in second after getting by Holstein the previous lap the chase was on. Misuraca was not going to make it easy for Adema and didn't. Scotty applied the pressure hot and heavy from lap 11 through 15 until finally squeezing by the # 3 coming out of turn four.

Back in the pack there was an all out frenzy happening as the cars of "Tiny" Tim George # 1, Donnie Maxwell # 5, Michael Smith # 9 and RC Roper # 92 were in a battle royale. Roper who started last was patiently working his way from deep in the pack. Maxwell, A Ford driver who was making his first USA appearance was battling hot and heavy with George with Roper glued to his heals.

Maxwell # 5 pushed high in turn # 1 allowing Roper # 92 to take the position. George # 1 was now leading the trio of combatants. As the race progressed Adema # 67 showed his skills in lapped traffic as he maneuvered his machine nicely around the ¼ mile oval. The "Dman" # 3d never lost sight of Adema but could not muster enough speed to get back bye. Tim Holstein was all alone in 3rd and running a very nice race.

At the finish it was Adema # 67, Misuraca #3d, Holstein # 51, George # 1, and RC Roper # 92 rounding out the top five. Maxwell # 5 was 6th followed by Michael Smith # 9, Dakota Stephans # 79, Geoffrey Styner 15jr, and Danny Jones in the # 99 in tenth.
