Williams Grove Results 97-06-20

Lance Dewease did double duty at Williams Grove when the travelling URC sprinters visited the famed half mile oval last friday night. Dewease made two trips to victory lane, collecting $2,000 for the URC win and $3,000 for the super sprint win.

This was Dewease's third win in a row at Williams Grove and his fourth win of the season. Dewease is the first driver to win four features this season.

Shawn Keen started on the pole and led the first 22 laps when Dewease passed him on a restart. Keen's car was slow on the restart allowing Dewease to make an easy pass. Keen suffered a slowly deflating rear tire which put the him in 7th when the checkered was shown.

Billy Pauch finished second with Fred Rahmer third.

Kevin Gobrecht was involved in a frightening accident that started when Gobrecht got together with the #10 of Len Thompson. Gobrecht's car tumbled down the front stretch collecting six other cars in the process. The accident involved Kevin's brother Brian, Don Kreitz, Garry Brazier, Mike Wagner, Alan Cole and Jeff Rohrbough. No one was hurt and all but Mike Wagner and Kevin Gobrecht continued. Gobrecht's Apple Chevrolet car was seriously damaged.
