Lexington, OH. – The TRG-AMR team wrapped a packed race weekend in Lexington, Ohio with a win in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class and the coveted “Hard Charger Award in GTA.” Racing at the scenic Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, TRG-AMR drivers Kris Wilson took the wheel behind the #07 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in the GTS class, and Christina Nielsen raced the #7 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the GTA class and competed in two races each for their respective classes.

It was Christina Nielsen’s debut at the Mid-Ohio circuit and she put in a stellar driving performance. Working through practice and qualifying she worked on learning all of the technicalities of this very challenging road circuit and had a fantastic drive through the field to finish fourth in her first race and to also earned the coveted hard charger award.

She had an equally strong race for the big day on Sunday and came home looking forward to the upcoming weekend at Road America. Another strong finish for Nielsen follows her impressive performance at the Northeast Grand Prix where she helped the TRG-AMR team to step back into second place in both the team and the driver championships.

Kris Wilson earns fourth win in GTS Class

Wilson performed well in his first race on Friday afternoon starting in P12, challenging opponents early for the lead. While he finished in P4 following accidental contact between him and another driver, Wilson remained focused on his second shot for the podium. He outpaced his opponents throughout the entire 50-minute competition on Saturday resulting in a victory for race number two and led flag-to-flag.

“It was unfortunate that on the first race we had a little contact there at the end and we would drop back to fourth but everything went perfect for race number two. These guys at TRG are just amazing as is the Aston Martin GT4. It Is totally the car to have and the team knows how to win. I am so proud to be driving for them.”

Showcasing his veteran skill set on the Mid-Ohio course, Wilson created excitement among the crowd and anxiety with competing teams. He came in to the race weekend having won three out of six races this season and remains one of the top drivers in the series.

“TRG has a rich history at this circuit and I am pleased to see both our drivers adding to that legacy. Christina put in an epic performance on this very technical circuit and everyone was really impressed. She continues to grow and mature as a driver and it is being noticed by all of the competitors. Kris did a fantastic job and held the flag high for the team to bring him another victory---#4 for the year. The Aston Martin racecars both performed flawlessly and we have been talking to many competitors and teams about our programs for next year. It is nice to see so much interest and this is definitely the brand to have as the cars are super competitive and of course just beautiful to look at!!” said Kevin Buckler, Chief Executive Officer at TRG-AMR.

For those who were unable to tune in to the Mid-Ohio race live, CBS Sports Network will rebroadcast the GTA class races on Sunday, August 9 at 4pm ET and the GTS class races on Wednesday, August 12 at 9pm ET.
