FIVE ADDITIONAL SPEEDVISION WORLD CHALLENGE DATES ANNOUNCED

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- SCCA Pro Racing has announced five more weekends for the Speedvision World Challenge GT and Touring Car Championships, bringing the season total to 10.

Mosport International Raceway, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, returns to the schedule for the 10th time, and the second-consecutive season, on the May 20-21 weekend with the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series Weekend. The series hits Lime Rock Park the following weekend, May 26-27, with the new Grand-Am series, for its sixth-consecutive appearance on the traditional Memorial Day weekend.

"The Speedvision World Challenge has been a big part of the Memorial Day weekend event at Lime Rock," said Garret Mudd, Lime Rock Park General Manager. "If this year's GT and Touring Car races are any indication, we are expecting two exciting Saturday features for 2000."

Following the Lime Rock Weekend, the Speedvision World Challenge will hold events on the July 7-9 and July 22-23 weekends. Venues will be announced at a later date.

The Speedvision World Challenge joins the American Le Mans Series for the final time on the 2000 season for the October 28-29 weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway -- an event co-headlined by the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series. The event marks the first appearance of the World Challenge in Las Vegas, and the weekend will again kick off the annual SEMA Show.

One additional weekend may added at a later date.
