MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EXTRAVAGANZA AT LIME ROCK PARK UP NEXT FOR TRANS-AM AND WORLD CHALLENGE: The Dodge Dealers Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, May 28-31, is up next for the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series and the Speedvision World Challenge Championships. Defending Lime Rock Park Trans-Am winner Lou Gigliotti, in the No. 28 LG Motorsports/G2 Performance Parts Chevrolet Corvette, will be looking for two-in-a-row at the 1.53-mile, seven-turn circuit, while last week's winner Brian Simo, in the No. 2 Valvoline Ford Mustang Cobra, will look to score his second-consecutive win of 1999.

LIME ROCK TV SCHEDULE: The Lime Rock Park BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am race will be televised live on the Speedvision Network, beginning at 1:00 p.m. (EDT). FOX Sports Net will rebroadcast the race, beginning Sunday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. (EDT). The Lime Rock Speedvision GT Championship race will be televised on Speedvision on Saturday, June 12, beginning at 4:00 p.m. (EDT), with the Speedvision Touring Car Championship race immediately following on Speedvision at 5:00 p.m. (EDT).

SAK IN RACEWERX MUSTANG COBRA: Don Sak, whose No. 10 A & E Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Oldsmobile Cutlass was heavily damaged at Mosport in a lap 39 crash, will compete at Lime Rock Park in the No. 7 Valvoline SynPower/A & E Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ford Mustang Cobra. "I want to thank Bruce for offering me this opportunity," said Sak. "The crash at Mosport really had me disappointed, but then Bruce came by after the race and we discussed this possibility—I don't know if I will have the same results that RaceWerX did at Mosport with Dorsey Schroeder at the wheel, but I will sure try to do my best. Dave Pfalz of A & E Plumbing & Drain Cleaning stepped forward to insure that I would be able to continue the endeavor to reach my goal of competing in 100 Trans Am races by the end of this year and I want to thank him. If everything works out I will continue to drive the RaceWerx Mustang until my crew is able to repair my Cutlass. They have a huge task facing them, but I know they are the hardest working crew in the Trans-Am and I will be back in my familiar Rainbow Olds very soon."

SCHROEDER IN HUFFAKER-QVALE RIDE FOR LIME ROCK PARK: Continuing the tradition he started last week at Mosport, Dorsey Schroeder will provide double duty during the Memorial Day Trans-Am race, May 31, providing the Speedvision Network with color commentary while behind the wheel of a Trans-Am car. Schroeder, who has three Lime Rock Park Trans-Am wins (1989, ‘95 and ‘96), will be racing this weekend in the No. 47 Huffaker-Qvale Motorsports Mustang Cobra.

ROSENBLUM HITS 50 STARTS AT LIME ROCK: Long-time Speedvision World Challenge competitor David Rosenblum, driver of the No. 18 ICY Racing BMW 328is in the Speedvision Touring Car Championship, will hit his 50th career World Challenge start this weekend at Lime Rock Park. Rosenblum is fourth on the all-time World Challenge starts list behind Lou Gigliotti (68), Peter Cunningham (67) and Taz Harvey (65).

MOBILIA.COM TO HOST AUCTION OF CUSTOM- PAINTED RACE CAR HOOD: Mobilia.com will host a charity auction in conjunction with Larry DuLude (driver of the No. 71 Mobilia.com Dodge Neon) to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Immediately following the completion of the Memorial Day Neon Challenge race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn., DuLude, of Easton, Conn., will auction off the custom-painted hood from his "Art-On Neon" race car. A preview of the auction is available now at www.mobilia.com/premier. Silent auction bidding on the site will begin May 30 and end on June 6, 1999. "Automobilia collectors love racing memorabilia because of the energy, excitement and value that is associated with these objects," said Eric H. Killorin, founder and CEO of Mobilia.com. "We have all kinds of racing memorabilia and collectibles at Mobilia.com. People are bidding on racing posters and photographs, die-cast models of their favorite driver's car, autographed biographies of famous racing champions and more." DuLude will be seeking a return to victory lane this weekend at Lime Rock, having won the Neon Challenge contest there in 1996. The hood will sport a racing/Americana design painted by Connecticut artist Allen Degreenia, who has also designed album covers for the Max Creek band and the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival. "This is a great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause," said DuLude. "Over the years, I've seen many race fans leave the track with used race tires or crumpled sheet metal from a race crash. Now they can log onto Mobilia.com and bid on a one-of-a-kind work-of-art. Hopefully the hood won't have any major dents."

GENTILOZZI TIES KENDALL'S RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE RACES ATOP THE POINT STANDINGS: Paul Gentilozzi's third-place Mosport finish keeps him on top of the 1999 BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series Drivers' Championship point standings with a 59 to 46 lead over Johnny Miller IV. Gentilozzi has now led the Trans-Am point standings for 15 consecutive races (1998 Long Beach through ‘99 Mosport Park), tying Tom Kendall's (1996 Dallas through the ‘97 Reno) record for holding the top points position in consecutive races. SIMO GIVES FORD MUSTANG THE ALL-TIME LEADERSHIP IN TRANS-AM FQ HONORS: Brian Simo's Mosport Park pole, at the wheel of the No. 2 Valvoline Ford Mustang Cobra, marked the Mustang's 84th Trans-Am fastest-qualifier honor, breaking a tie with Chevrolet's Camaro and setting a new Trans-Am record in the process.

SHAFER ALL-TIME CONSECUTIVE-SEASON TRANS-AM COMPETITOR; SECOND IN SEASONS SCORING POINTS: Craig Shafer, driving the No. 39 Somerset Door & Column Co. Camaro, made his first 1999 Trans-Am start at Mosport, setting the all-time mark for consecutive-season appearances at 19. Shafer has now scored points in 17 Trans-Am seasons, second ranking all-time to Greg Pickett's 19 seasons with points scored.

DERHAAG RACING CLOSING IN ON ROUSH TEAM STARTS RECORD: Last weekend's Mosport Trans-Am contest marked the 173rd race contested by Derhaag Racing; only Roush Racing, with 181 Trans-Ams contested, has competed in more Trans-Am events.
