Solid points day for Ende in Toronto

July 15, 2013 (Los Angeles, Calif.) - In his first trip to the Acura Sports Car Challenge, part of the Honda Indy 200 at Toronto, Duncan Ende drove his no. 24 STANDD / Merchant Services Audi R8 LMS to sixth in Sunday's Round 10 of the GT/GTS class championship.

"Toronto was a pretty forgettable race for us," said Ende. "I'm glad to have this one in the rear-view mirror and to get out of Toronto without a banged-up race car. We just kind of struggled for grip and pace all weekend, and when I got held up a bit at the start I didn't have anything for the other guys. I might have caught Randy with some breaks in traffic, but getting around him would have been another matter."

While the race was underwhelming in terms of results, it did provide Ende the benefit of jumping ahead one position in the GT class driver's championship, to seventh with 727 points while also closing the gap to Alex Figge in sixth position.

"If we have to have a bad race, it's good that we at least made up some ground in the championship," said Ende. "I don't think seventh is anything to get really excited about, but it's definitely better than eighth. We'll have to do a little bit of a regroup before we go to Mid-Ohio, but I think we'll have something more for the rest of field for the next four races."

Rounds eleven and twelve of the World Challenge GT and GTS championships will be August 2-4 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
